Responsible Youth Leader (RYL) Program is a 12-week program for young people in Southeast Asia who are keen and committed to learning about leadership, responsible tourism and sustainable development. The program is brought to you by Sarawak Research Society (SRS), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MTAC) Sarawak, Southeast Asia Research Academy (SEARA), Responsible Borneo (REBORN) and Emerald Publishing (East Asia). More program details below:

Registration

Applicants are invited to register here. Please note that registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Application will be closed once we receive enough number of participants (3 participants per country).

Highlights

  • 7 intensive lectures
  • 2 assignments (individual and group)
  • Certificate of completion
  • A 4D3N stay in Kuching, Sarawak or a stipend of USD120 per person (above 80% attendance and completion of 2 assignments)
  • Networking and collaboration prospects
  • Opportunity of becoming SEARA members

18 Nov: confirmation of successful applicants

25 Nov - 24 Feb: 12-week program (every Thursday, 8-9pm (GMT +8))

25 Feb - 28 Feb: certificate allocations

Eligibility

  • Between the age of 18-35 years old
  • A citizen or a resident from Southeast Asian countries
  • Able to converse in basic English as all programs will be conducted in English
  • Committed to fulfill your hours for this program
  • Dedicated and passionate about tourism and sustainable development in Southeast Asia
