Veasna is currently doing his masters degree in tourism and sustainability at the Linnaeus University in Sweden. Before that he had attained two bachelor degrees in tourism and hospitality management from the University of Cambodia and in English literature from the university of Puthisastra, Cambodia.

His research interests include nature-based tourism, community based ecotourism and tourism governance.

He was the chairperson for SI Network for Future Global Leaders, Linnaeus. He was a publicity ambassador for HWLP, Republic of Korea.
He was also an advocate for YSEALI AdvocaSEA.
