Sokna has been working in conservation and livelihood projects for more than 4 years with several International NGOs, including World Wide Fund for Nature, Wildlife Conservation Society and Fauna & Flora International. Hence, she has adequate work experience related to community development and livelihood improvement, environmental awareness raising, and forest and wildlife conservation.

Her research interests are ecotourism, community development, sustainability, and environment and business.
